SOME THINGS TO CONSIDER WHEN CHOOSING YOUR CANE

For self-defense, the cane should be as long as possible. All standard canes vary in length from 36" to 37-1/2" in length unless otherwise noted.  Longer and shorter canes are avalilable (in hickory or oak only) for an additional $15. charge.  The length of the cane is normally measured in the standing position with the arms relaxed.  The measurement is taken from the large wrist bone (on the outside or little-finger side of the wrist) to the floor while wearing normal street shoes.  This is very difficult to measure by yourself while standing straight up, so it is best to ask someone else to do the measuring for you.

If you need a longer or shorter cane than the standard length of from 36" to 37 1/2":

  • in addition to clicking on the order button below to order the cane you want, page-down to the bottom of the page and use the "Longer or Shorter Canes Option" Add to Cart button, and select the specific length you desire.

  • If the length you need is longer than the length selections shown in the box please e-mail us letting us know the length you need, and if the cost will be over $15. we will let you know the additional amount you would need to pay.

Choice of Wood

Cane Masters canes are available in your choice of Hickory or Oak, unless otherwise indicated.

When considering the strength of the wood, Hickory is the strongest wood, Oak would be the second strongest.

Full-Dimension Canes
Canes in this category have a round shaft, 1 to 1-1/8 in diameter, and as such are our strongest sticks. It must be noted that as material is taken away from the cane, it will loose some of its integral strength.
