To Order the Shaolin Shark-Fin Cane

Correct Measurement for the Length of Your Cane
To measure the length of your cane correctly, stand with your street shoes on, looking straight ahead, not bending your neck. Let your hands and arms relax straight down and ask someone to measure the distance from the floor to the center of the large bone on the outside of the wrist of the arm that you will be using to hold the cane. It is better to add an inch if you are not sure of the exact length you need. You can always cut off any excess if the cane is too long and having an extra inch of length on your cane can be very advantageous in the event of an attack.
Standard Length of Cane (no extra charge)
Cane Masters cane stock comes in standard lengths of from 32" to 36 1/2" in 1/2-inch increments. If you wish to purchase a standard length cane, please choose the standard length you desire in the drop-down box immediately below.

Master Zhao Zhan Jun is from the lineage of the Shaolin Si-Men School, chairman of the Jinzhou (Hebei Province) Wushu Association, and Head Coach of the Northern China Shaolin Wushu (martial arts) School. Instruction by master Zhao includes not only defensive movements with the cane, but application technique as well.
The VCD consists of two discs. The verbal instructions are in mandarin however understanding the language is not necessary since most people find the movements very obvious and easy to follow.
Si-Men Boxing does not have a long history but has absorbed the traditional essence of martial firearms with a strong sense of modern shaolin martial arts. Characteristics of the Si-Men fighting style is the punch quartet, to win with fewer movements such as body advance and retreat using simple and straightforward natural and rapid defense movements. The Si-Men style occupies a unique position in the martial arts community. The cane is a kind of appliance of daily life not only for fitness, but also for self-defense. The cane routines are based on the style of Si-Men boxing, drawing on the essences of broadsword, sword, spear, cudgel, hook, mace whip, and pole. The cane style is easy to learn and to practice; not rigidly adhering to "form of action" or "beautiful appearance". It is simple and plain, using the few (movements) to defeat the many. The video is skills-oriented and demonstrates a wide variety of practical techniques, combined with footwork, body technique, advance and retreat, attack and defense to hit opponent's critical parts; for example to "hit on the head, sweep the leg, cut both wrists, poke the chest. Both fitness and self-defense can be obtained by learning this cane style and practitioners really enjoy it. |
